Hongkong, 11th. February 1915.

We are in receipt of a letter from H. B. M.'s

Consul-General at Canton, dated the 9th. instant, covering copy

of the Civil Governor's despatch dated the 5th. February and the

Consul-General's reply of the 9th. idem. regarding our claim

against the Canton Government in connection with the prohibition

of export of Limestone, copies of which are doubtless in your

possession.

As the matter has been referred to Peking, we have

the honour to request that you will make representations to His Majesty's Minister at Peking or to the Secretary of State for the

Colonies with a view to giving our claim as much support as

possible.
